STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills golf team battled inclement weather during the second round of the California Collegiate Athletic Association men's golf championships, managing to stay in the top five both in team competition and individually, led by senior
Sam Song.
Tied for first after yesterday's strong 4-under showing, Song shot a 4-over to finish even after two rounds, tying for fifth place.
The South Korea native began today's round, which was delayed for hours after six holes of play, with a double bogey, but regrouped to record three straight birdies on holes five, six and seven.
The back nine proved more challenging as Song recorded bogeys on holes 12, 13 and 15, and a double bogey on 18 to bring him to +4 on the day.
CS San Marcos' Gavin McCormick and CS San Bernardino's Aaron Parayno finished today's round tied for the top spot, both at 4-under.
Aaron Sanchez shot a 3-over 75 to tie for 15th, with
Trent Fitzgerald moving up two spots to 20th after shooting 2-over par.Â
Troy Song also moved up spot spots to 22nd with a 2-over, while
Zachary Iwashita dropped 17 spots with an 8-over today.
