TURLOCK, Calif. -- Coming off the program's first NCAA West Region team win last week, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros found day one of the 51st Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational a tough go as it sits in 11th place of 11 teams competing at the par 71 Turlock Golf Course.
Individually,
Trent Fitzgerald sits tied for 41st after shooting a 7-over in round one before cutting six shots of his round two score for a +8 overall (78-72).
No. 34 Cal State San Bernardino leads the field with a 4-under overall, leading second place and No. 29 Chico State by seven shots. No. 22 Western Washington sits 15 shots behind the Yotes, with the host Warriors in fourth place and 16 shots back.
The Toros, meanwhile, sit 47 shots behind the leader, and 14 shots behind 10th place Dominican.
CSUSB's Kamron Hopson and Tyler Price along with Jessup's Braden Armstrong share the individual lead all at 2-under.
Sam Song sits tied for 53rd at 10-over (78-74),
Aaron Sanchez is tied for 58th at 12-over (78-76),
Troy Song sits tied for 61st at 13-over (80-75) with
Zachary Iwashita in 64th at 16-over (82-76).
The third and final round begins tomorrow morning, starting at 8:30 am.
