"My friends, my coaches, and the faculty made my experience at CSUDH so special. The friends I made there hold a special place in my heart, my coaches helped me develop both on and off the field, and the faculty was beyond helpful in fulfilling my academic goals. They all made my experience unique and memorable. CSUDH is the "bridge" in my adult life. It was the perfect setting to help develop from a young adult into the person I envisioned becoming. It pushed me to refine my academics, work ethic, and character. I contribute many of my successes in life to the skills developed at CSUDH."

"I am forever grateful for the opportunity that CSUDH gave me not only as an athlete but as a student, and even more so as a person. It was the right place for me to go when I graduated high school and it was close to home so my parents would never miss a game. In addition to helping me further my career and education, I was able to make some lifelong friends, and most importantly met my wife."

"CSUDH is a smaller school with a great family atmosphere that felt like home.  The relationships I was able to build have been lifelong, from the way the school's faculty accepts you and gets to know you, and the way you get to know your fellow students.  I still talk to a lot of the guys on my team as well as other student-athletes, and to top it off, I enjoyed being on Dr. J's final team."

MEN'S SOCCER

Joe Cartlidge JOE CARTLIDGE (2000-01)
NCAA National Champion (2000)
2-time All-American (2000, 2001)

"My teammates, coaches and the intercollegiate soccer experience are what stand out the most from my time at CSUDH. In a way, it felt like a rags to riches story, with our going from being unranked to winning a National Championship in 2000.  CSUDH provided a platform for opportunity and growth, and my time there taught me that anything is possible if you keep an open mind and embrace what's in front of you."
