Warriors and Toros Clash in Stub Hub Center's Main Stadium This Friday

CARSON -- Boasting the 2012 California Collegiate Athletic Association men's soccer champion and the 2013 CCAA women's soccer leader, Cal State Stanislaus visits Carson on Friday to kick off a pair of games for both the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's and men's soccer teams, with the contests against the Warriors taking place in the Stub Hub Center's "Main Stadium."

Ranked No. 7 in this week's NSCAA poll, the Warrior women feature two-time CCAA Offensive MVP Karenee Demery, who leads the CCAA in goals and points, and sits second in assists.  CSUS enters Friday's contest with a nearly perfect record at 9-0-1, with the one tie coming at No. 15 Sonoma State.

The CSUS men, meanwhile, sit in a four-team tie for third in the CCAA North, just four points out from the top spot.

The CSUDH men are in fourth place at 6-2-2, 4-2-2 CCAA, and also are chasing their division leader in No. 6 UC San Diego, which sits five points ahead of the Toros, with Chico State and No. 17 Cal State L.A. also above the Toros in the standings.  The Toros feature the reigning CCAA Newcomer of the Year in senior Aaron Salazar, who leads the CCAA in assists and points, and sits third in goals entering Friday's match-up.

CSUDH's women's team is tied for 3rd in the CCAA South with cross-town rival Cal State L.A., with the Toros, Golden Eagles and Cal Poly Pomona Broncos chasing division leader Cal State San Bernardino.  Individually, newcomer Janelle McGee is tied for 13th in the CCAA in goals, with Jayma Martin, Olivia Patterson and Caitlin Peterson tied for 18th entering the weekend.

First kick for the women's game is at 4:30 pm, followed by the men at 7:00 pm.  Live stats will be available here for the women's game, and here for the men's contest.

As always, admission is free for all CSUDH faculty, staff and students with valid CSUDH ID.
