CARSON -- Having had its postseason hopes dashed in early October, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team forged a scoreless tie with crosstown-rival Cal State LA this morning to conclude its forgettable 2026 season, giving hope to next year's squad by going unbeaten over its final three matches.
The Toros conclude this year with a 3-12-2 overall mark, going 1-10-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play to finish in a tie for 13th place in the league.
Despite being blanked nine times before today's match, CSUDH scored a season-best three goals in a wine at San Francisco State on October 22 before a 1-1 tie at Menlo College two days later, with three of those goals courtesy of
Alexis Delgado.
Today against the No. 2 seed in next week's CCAA Tournament, the Toros were stymied by the Golden Eagles, managing just one shot, which came in the second half.
Luckily, its staunch defense and
Marlies Nauman (pictured) kept CSULA out of the goal, only the third time this year they were held scoreless.
Kendall Griffin was the lone Toro to launch an attempt, with the visitors also enjoying a 12 to 2 advantage in corners.
