Toros and Coyotes Play to Scoreless 2OT Draw

Box Score

SAN BERNARDINO -- Having given up seven goals in dropping its last two games, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team played a lock down defense today, and the result was a double-overtime draw at CS San Bernardino.  Toro keeper Jennifer Ackerly made three saves in the tie.

With the tie, CSUDH moves to 5-8-3, 4-7-3 CCAA in snapping a two-game skid, while CSUSB now sits at 9-5-3, 7-4-3 CCAA.

The two teams played evenly as there were only two shots, two saves and one corner kick s
eparating the two team.

In fact, after the first game between the two teams saw the Yotes notch the game's lone goal in the 7th minute, the 110 minute draw brought the scoreless streak between the two teams to nearly 200 minutes.

CSUDH controlled the play during regulation en route to a 16-9 shot advantage, only to see CSUSB reply in overtime by out-shooting the Toros 7-2.

Naomi Linares and CSUSB's Kiana Quarles tied for most shots on goal with two each, with Yote keeper Chelsey Jones tallying 5 saves in the tie.

CSUDH concludes its season next weekend on the road, traveling to cross-town rival on Friday, November 1, before its final game of the year two days later at Cal Poly Pomona.
