Toros Forge 2-2 Double Overtime Draw at Cal Poly Pomona

POMONA -- Juniors Caitlin Peterson and Olivia Patterson both knocked home a goal in the second half to help forge a double-overtime draw at Cal Poly Pomona tonight after the Broncos took a 2-0 lead in the first half of play.

With the draw, CSUDH moves to 5-9-3, 3-9-2 CCAA, while CPP now stands at 9-4-3, 7-4-3 CCAA.

After the hosts put the first two scores on the board over a 12 minute stretch to end the first half, the Toros saved their best for last after Peterson cut their lead in half after collecting a rebound and slottig it past CPP keeper Sarah Rohman from 6 yards out at the 81:40 mark.

That's where the game looked to end until the Broncos committed a crucial foul, giving Patterson a penalty kick opportunity.

The junior took advantage of her opportunity by nestling her attempt into the back of the net with just five seconds left in regulation.

CPP out-shot the Toros 29-14 overall, including 5-2 in the extra periods, and eanred a 6-0 edge in corners.

Starter Tiffany Hollis made 6 saves on the night, with freshman Jennifer Ackerly making 5 in the draw.

CSUDH concludes its season on Sunday as it travels to San Francisco State for a 2 pm first kick.
