CARSON -- Cal State Dominguez Hills true freshman
Kendall Griffin scored the first collegiate goal of her career this afternoon, but it wasn't enough as visiting Cal State San Bernardino took a 4-1 decision over the Toros in a matinee match-up at Toro Stadium.
Having now dropped nine straight, the Toros fall to 2-11 overall and remain winless in CCAA action.
The visitors scored three first-half goals to take a commanding lead over the first 45 minutes of play, a score that stood up until the 80th minute.
That's when Griffin struck, taking a feed from
Katelyn Littlejohn and finding the back off the net for a score that broke a three-match scoreless streak for the Cardinal and Gold.
CSUDH was outshot 13-9, but took a 4-3 edge in corners with Griffin,
Alexis Butz and
Kaylee Leavitt all sending a shot on frame.
The Toros will look to earn their first CCAA in on Sunday, hosting Cal State Marcos for an 11 am first touch.
