Toros Back in NSCAA's Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Bolstered by two wins last weekend to bring its win streak to four-consecutive, a streak that included a CCAA Player of the Week nod for freshman Connor Brandt, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros find themselves back in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's top 25 poll, checking in at No. 24.

After missing from the national poll the past couple weeks, the Toros regained their place amongst the nation's best as the highest-ranking CCAA school, with Grand Canyon at No. 16 boasting the top spot amongst the NCAA's west region schools.

The Toros are led by senior Jordan Rover's 4 scores and 10 points, with Henry Calistro at 3 goals and Billy Gutierrez and Brandt at two apiece.

Junior keeper Markus Dickerson, meanwhile, has sports a 0.71 GAA, and tied for the CSUDH all-time lead in career shutouts with Friday night's blanking of San Francisco State.

Brandt earned his first-career Player of the Week award for tallying both game-winning goals at SFSU and Cal Poly Pomona, bringing the Toros into a first-place tie with the Broncos in the CCAA's South Division with just four weekends left of conference action.

The road to the CCAA tournament doesn't get any easier for the Toros this weekend as CSUDH, currently 7-2-1, 5-2-1 CCAA, travels to Humboldt State and arch-rival Sonoma State, with the Seawolves sitting atop the North Division with a 5-3 league mark but having lost 3 of its last 4 matches.
