FRESNO -- Cal State Dominguez HIlls dominated play tonight at Fresno Pacific in an eventual 2-1 win, highlighted by
Tucker Malinosky's game-winner at the 68:21 mark to give the Toros their third-straight win and tie them atop the CCAA standings with cross-town rival Cal State LA.
CSUDHÂ outshot the Sunbirds 22-10 including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal, improving to 5-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in CCAA play.
The hosts began the scoring in the 15th minute, but
Jose Peredia equalized at the 37:05 mark after a feed from
Derek Salguero to send both teams into intermission knotted at 1-1.
The teams looked to be playing towards a draw after 20 more minutes of scoreless action to begin the second half, but Malinosky's score gave the Toros the lead for good.
FPU looked to earn the tie, but CSUDH's defense limited them to just four shots down the stretch to seal the win.
The Toros' aggressive play earned a whopping 19 to 2 advantage in corner kicks, causing FPU to make eight saves.
Peredia proved trouble for FPU, with all four of his match-high shots coming on frame.
CSUDH will look for its fourth-straight victory on Saturday as it travels to Cal State Monterey Bay to take on the Otters at 4 pm.
