CARSON -- One year after scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over San Francisco State up north, now junior Jessica Murphy repeated her offensive performance with two goals as the Toros took a 2-1 win over the Gators on a warm and windy Sunday afternoon in Carson, bringing CSUDH to 5-1, 3-1 CCAA.

As was the case in Friday's game, the visitors struck first after Andrea Carey sent a through ball that Carly Bliss collected and sent past a diving Alyssa Congdon for a 1-0 lead.

But like Friday, Murphy equalized the score after taking a Marlene Becerra cross and shuttling her shot far post off SFSU keeper Annicia Jones.

That's where the score remained until the 76th minute when Murphy struck again, taking a feed from Taylor Canatsey and beating Jones 1v1 for the eventual game-winner.

Despite the loss, Jones was spectacular in net for the Gators, making 8 saves, with many on bullets from the Toro strikers.  Congdon finished with 3 saves in the win.

As a team, CSUDH out-shot the Gators 18-5, including a convincing 10-2 edge after the break, also out-cornering their guests 10-2 in the win.

CSUDH heads to the road for consecutive weekends, with next weekend's stops at CS San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.
