CARSON -- Junior All-American Jessica Murphy continued her offensive show by scoring both goals and her fifth goal in three games as the Toros blanked visiting Humboldt State 2-0, to move to 9-3-1, 7-3-1 CCAA.  With her scores, Murphy has been a part of CSUDH's last 6 goals scored, tallying 5 herself while assisting on the other.

Murphy got the scoring started early after Lexi Ford collected a Kayley Evans feed and dished to Murphy, who one-timed her shot past HSU keeper Jennie Paugh near post for a 1-0 lead just 6:13 into the period.

That's where the score remained entering the second half, when the Toro offense kept the pressure on to the tune of a 13-2 shot advantage.

HSU managed to keep the ball in the Toro zone for the first 20 minutes after intermission despite their low shot output, only to have the Toros finish with a flurry of attempts in the final five minutes of regulation.

Still at 1-0, Murphy just missed on two chances in the goal mouth, before Taylor Canatsey got off back-to-back attempts after Paugh saved one of her shots.

That served as a harbinger as Murphy finished her offensive day by taking a Marlene Becerra cross and sending a rocket past Paugh for the game's final tally.

CSUDH keeper Alyssa Congdon finished with 2 saves while Paugh ended with 8 in the loss as HSU dropped to 3-10, 3-8 CCAA.

The Toros next host Sonoma State for an 11:30 am match-up on Sunday at Toro Stadium, on the Home Depot Center's Track & Field facility.
