CARSON -- Junior Jessica Murphy tallied her second two-goal game of the year and third score on the weekend to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills past Cal State East Bay, 3-1, in the nightcap of the weekend league series, pushing the Toros to 8-3-1, 6-3-1 CCAA.

After being shut out in the earlier meeting, the visitors drew first blood as Jessica Hamister collected a deflection in front of the Toro net and sent her shot past a stretched out Alyssa Congdon for a quick 1-0 CSUEB lead at 24:07.

That momentum would prove to be short-lived, however, as Murphy notched the first of her two scores just under two minutes later, sending her shot over keeper Nina Cefalo for the equalizer, where it remained entering the half.

Murphy continued her scoring prowess after the break after an Allyssia Vasquez cross found her feet, leading to a blast far post for a 2-0 lead.

The Torrance All-American then took on the role of distributor as she started the third scoring sequence for the Toros, feeding the ball to Lauren Ruvalcaba who sent it to Natalee Simon, who then beat Cefalo 1v1 for the game's last score.

The Toros out-shot the Pioneers 16-4, including a dominating 10-1 in the second half, also enjoying 5 corners to CSUEB's 3.

Congdon finished with 2 saves while Cefalo ended with 6 in the loss.

The Toros continue their CCAA hosting duties next weekend as Humboldt State visits Carson on Friday, with first kick set for 4:30 pm.
