Pomona, CA -- Playing like a team that's clicking on all cylilnders, the 4th-ranked Toros took a workman-like 4-1 victory at Cal Poly Pomona today, earning at least the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCAA Championship Tournament next weekend, held in La Jolla and hosted by UC San Diego.
The Toros led 1-0 at halftime, thanks to Kyle Holland 's goal in the 42nd minute.
Greg Piechota scored two goals in a span of three and a half minutes and Chris Perkins added one at the 70th minute for the Toros to key their team's second-half rally.
Bronco Rigo Cardenas made certain his Cal Poly Pomona team would not be shut out as the forward scored with eight seconds left on the clock.
Improving to 16-2-1, 10-2-1 CCAA, the 4th-ranked Toros close out the regular season Sunday at Cal State San Bernardino, before heading to La Jolla and looking to make it three-straight after claiming both the 2006 and 2007 CCAA Championships.
