SONOMA, Calif. -- Senior
Zachary Iwashita shot a 1-under over the first two rounds of today's Dominican Spring Invitational as day one came to a close, leading Cal State Dominguez Hills to 2nd place with one round to follow tomorrow morning.
The Cypress native shot a 71 in round one and followed that effort with an even par to end Monday afternoon at 1-under and a 143 on day one.
Sam Song sits tied for 10th after shooting a 1-over in round 1 and a 3-over later this afternoon, good for a 148.
Aaron Sanchez tied for 15th (72-77-149),
Trent Fitzgerald sits 19th (75-75-150) and
Troy Song tied for 29th (83-75-158) to round out the quintet.
Menlo leads the team competition with a +10, with the Toros sitting two strokes behind. Jessup is in 3rd, followed by host Dominican in the seven-team field.
The third and final round begins tomorrow morning at 8 am.
