CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills opened its 2025 season with a 1-0 win over Westmont on Thursday afternoon at Toro Stadium.

The Toros broke through in the 50th minute when junior forward Kaylee Leavitt found the back of the net off an assist from defender Makenzie Hewison. It was all the offense the hosts needed, as goalkeeper Audrey Haman anchored the defense with three saves to secure the clean sheet.

Dominguez Hills outshot the Warriors 6-5, keeping steady pressure on the Westmont defense while holding firm in the back line.

The Toros return home Saturday to face Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. at Toro Field in Carson.
