Dent-Smith and Alamudun Selected NABC All-District First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the NABC Division II All-District teams with both Jeremy Dent-Smith and Jakob Alamudun selected West Region All-District First Team.
 
This past season Jeremy Dent-Smith was selected D2CCA All-West Region First Team, CCAA Player of the Year, All-CCAA First Team, CCAA Player of the Week three times, and a D2CIDA National Player of the Week selection.
 
Dent-Smith is the first Toros since 1988-189, and third in program history to be voted the CCAA Player of the Year. The Sophomore guard ranked second in the conference in scoring (17.3), as well as 3-pointers per game (2.0), finished sixth in field goal percentage (46%).
 
He reached double-figures in 26 of 30 games and was named the D2CIDA Men's Basketball Div. II Player of the Week in a win over Cal Poly Pomona. This came after scoring a CCAA season-best 41 points, including nine 3-pointers which tied the CSUDH record. The Hawthorne, Calif., native led the team in steals with (44), also in assists (84), and ranked second on the team in free throw percentage (79%).
 
Jakob Alamudum joined the Toros out of Lehigh University and was instrumental in the team's championship season. The 6-6 guard was selected CCAA Newcomer of the Year and All-CCAA First Team.
 
Ranked fifth in the CCAA in scoring (15.1 ppg) and led the conference in free throw percentage (83%), going 136-163 at the charity stripe, this mark would be the most in the league. Alamudun would play and start in all 28 contest the Toros have had so far this season. He would reach double-figures in 25 of 30 games, including six games with 20 points or more. The Huntington Beach native had a team high 167 rebounds and had 63 assists to close the season.
