CARSON -- A number of former Cal State Dominguez Hills student-athletes have turned in one uniform for another, currently finding themselves in the middle of today's fight against COVID-19.
GoToros.com salutes these alums, and will recognize their heroic efforts on the front line as the pandemic continues to alter the way we go about our daily activities.
This profile in courage features

How I'm helping:
"Sadly I had a recent Achilles injury so I haven't been too mobile but I have been calling patients via Telehealth technologies provided to make sure their vital signs/measures are within a desirable range to help prevent hospitalizations and ER visits."
My motivation to help is:
"Being able to provide medical assistance/service to the men and women who fought for this country."
How life has changed in 2020:
"My husband and I recently moved to the east coast and I recently started a new job as a RN Telehealth Care Coordinator. Unfortunately, I suffered an Achilles tear injury from taking kickboxing class, but am on the mend as scheduled and will am set to graduate from Duke this fall with an MSN in Health Informatics."
How my participation in collegiate athletics influences me during the current pandemic:
"I would say that my history of being an athlete, it has given me teamwork skills. I am able to communicate and work with my fellow co-workers. Especially being in the medical field, communication is key!"
