POMONA, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills struggled to find its offensive rhythm Saturday afternoon, falling 59–37 to Cal Poly Pomona in a CCAA matchup at Kellogg Arena.
The Toros (1–6, 1–1 CCAA) were led by Anela Thomas, who scored a team-high eight points and added five rebounds, five steals, and two assists in 31 minutes. Leilani Abraham followed with seven points on 3-of-7 shooting, while Tiara Jones chipped in five points and five rebounds.
CSUDH opened strong with a 12-point first quarter, but a cold stretch in the second period allowed the Broncos to take control. The Toros fought to stay within reach, posting nine points in the third and 12 in the fourth, but could not overcome their shooting struggles, finishing 15-for-59 (25.4 percent) from the field.
Despite the loss, Dominguez Hills showed activity on the boards, collecting 36 rebounds—nine of them offensive—and forcing 10 steals on the defensive end.
The Toros return to action Dec.19th at home vs Cal State East Bay as they continue CCAA play.
