Box Score CARSON – Sofia Litendahl scored the first goal of the season in the 81^st minute but the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team ran out of time in a 3-1 campaign-opening loss to Azusa Pacific at a humid Toro Stadium Thursday evening.
 
The Cougars got the first goal in the 40^th minute, the second one 36 seconds into the second half and the third was in the 50^th.
 
The junior Litendahl got the Toros on the board via penalty kick.
 
Along with the three goals, Azusa Pacific edged Dominguez Hills in shots, 10-7, but the Toros did outshoot the Cougars 5-3 in the second period.
 
Dominguez Hills will hop on a plane and travel to Salt Lake City for a neutral-site matchup against Montana State Billings on the campus of Westminster College. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
