WAIKOLOA, Hawaii –
Raynard Belmonte scored a 75 while the rest of his Cal State Dominguez Hills teammates –
Todd Henderson,
Dylan Hall,
Kyle Campano and
Andres Navarro – each carded 77 to wrap up the third and final round of Hawai`i Hilo's Dennis Rose Invitational Wednesday.
The Toros as a team ended their time at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings' Course combining for a total of 911 to place them in a tie for 11
th with Drury.
Belmonte, coming off having scored a season-low 73 in the first round and 75 in the second, made birdie in the fourth hole for the second straight day and scored a 3 in the par-4 16
th. He also made par in 11 different holes. The senior ended up finishing in a tie for 19
th in the individual standings having scored 7-over in all three rounds.
Hall also made par 11 times as he steered his way towards the 77 score. He made birdie in the par-5 18
th. He joined Campano on the individual board with an 11-over result in the tournament.
Henderson did make any birdies but did stay even in 13 holes.
No. 26 Sonoma State won the tournament as the only team to score under par with a 1-under 863. Cal State Monterey Bay's third-ranked Elis Svard maintained the lead and won the individual medal with a 9-under 207.
The Toros will take a break from competition and resume play at on February 3-4 at Cal State San Marcos' Fujikura Classic at Shadowridge Golf Course in Vista.
