Troy Song Qualifies for NCAA Championship Regional Competing as Individual

INDIANAPOLIS -- Freshman Troy Song was one of four golfers from the NCAA West Region selected to participate in regional competition of the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, taking place May 7-9, at The Reserve at Spanos Park, in Stockton, Calif.

Song joins Hawaii Pacific's Kyle Krupp, Saint Martin's Rasmus Tamker and Jessup's Jacobus Brakkee as individuals, with five CCAA teams in Chico State, Cal State East Bay, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Cal State San Marcos earning a spot in the 10-team field.  The other five schools are from Western Washington, Hawaii Hilo, Simon Fraser, Dominican, and Vanguard.

This season, Song enjoyed his best tournament of the year at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in early March, finishing tied for 17th with a 214, with his next lowest score of 219 coming at the Fujikura Invitational one month earlier.  Song shot a 4-under 68 during the final round of the recently concluded CCAA Championships, and boasted three rounds of 3-under 69.  On the year, the Temecula native shot under par in seven rounds.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 18–22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The finals will be hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
