Toros Blanked in Season Opener

Box Score
HONOLULU -- Even though the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team outshot their opponents, it was Chaminade who was able to capitalize on its opportunities as the Toros fell by a final score of 3-0, Thursday at Saint Louis Field.

It was the season opener for both teams as the Toros drop to 0-1 to start the 2017 campaign. The Silverswords improve to 1-0.

CSUDH outshot Chaminade 8-7, including 5-4 on shots on goal. Silverswords goalkeeper Brandee Lane finished the contest with five saves for the clean sheet.

Chaminade got its first goal on a penalty kick from Bianca Gonzales in the 16th minute after a CSUDH foul inside the box. The Silverswords kept the onslaught going in the second half with goals in the 63rd and 90th minute.

The Toros will stay in Hawaii for their next matchup. After a day off, CSUDH will take on Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m. PST.
