2015 Women's Soccer Preview: Heading in the Right Direction

CARSON -- To say the 2014 season was disappointing is an understatement.  Under first-year head coach Aileen Nasypany, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team managed to win just two games and score just seven goals in 18 games en route to a last-place finish in the highly-competitive California Collegiate Athletic Association Conference.

But to paraphrase an adage that looks to be this year's rallying cry, the season didn't kill the team, and only made them stronger heading into the 2015 campaign.

With an entirely new staff of assistant coaches in place and players on the pitch who are dedicated to Nasypany's system, the head coach knows this season could be quite memorable.  And given a full recruiting season with which to work, the coaching staff feels this year's recruits have what it takes to push the squad to its first postseason appearance of any kind since 2009, the year the Toros fell in the NCAA Championship game.

Here's head coach Nasypany, on her team and the upcoming 2015 season which starts Thursday.
