SAAC Hosts First-Ever Gatorade Pong for Make-A-Wish

CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is pleased to announced its first-ever Gatorade Pong on Thursday, April 16, taking place in Housing.

Co-sponsored by CSUDH Housing, the event kicks off at 7 pm at the Phase I Basketball Court in Housing, with all proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the designated charity for the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Conference.

Spearheaded by SAAC member and baseball senior Danny Matienzo, the event welcomes all CSUDH students with valid ID, and will feature music and games, as well as prizes awarded to the teams that finish in the top three.

"CSUDH is a commuter school and many students, especially those living on campus, have complained of lack of fun campus activities," begins Matienzo, who has participated in previous Gatorade Pong Tournaments.

"This came about to bring together students who live on- and off-campus to mingle with each other as well as with the athletes. This is a fun event that will bring CSUDH students closer together and raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

"Hopefully this event will start a precedent for the following years, and improve the overall campus life."
