LOS ANGELES -- Several members of Cal State Dominguez Hills' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and athletic staff made a sunrise visit to the Midnight Mission in Downtown Los Angeles Tuesday to serve breakfast to the homeless community.
The group had the opportunity to dish out potatoes, oatmeal, bread, eggs, bananas and water to about 300 people. At the end of the shift, they assisted the Midnight Mission staff by helping with the clean-up process and reorganization of the dining room.
"It was an eye-opening yet rewarding experience for our student-athletes and staff members because we were able to see the immediate effects of our service. I encourage others to look into getting involved with the organization," commented CSUDH Student Success Coordinator
Lauren Redman, who serves as SAAC's advisor.
