Toros Drop Fifth 2-0 Decision of Year, This Time at No. 12 CS San Bernardino

Box Score

SAN BERNARDINO -- Undefeated and 12th-ranked Cal State San Bernardino scored a pair of second half goals in less than two minutes, spurring the Coyotes to a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills this morning.

The loss marked the 7th shutout suffered by the Toros this year, and the fifth by a 2-0 count.

Sami Feinstein logged a team-best three shots as CSUDH falls to 0-8-1, 0-2 CCAA.  CSUSB, meanwhile, keeps its perfect record intact at 9-0 overall, a 2-0 CCAA.

Coyote senior Jasmine Williams earned a goal and an assist and Susan Ibarra added a goal of her own as the Coyotes established a school-record ninth consecutive victory.

After a scoreless first half in which both teams had five shots apiece, CSUSB stepped up with a two-goal flurry that provided all the security it needed.

Williams clamped down in front of the net headed a ball from Kiana Quarles that gave the Coyotes the lead at 1-0 in the 56th minute.

Then in the 58th minute, Williams fed the ball to Ibarra, who was three yards out and drove it home for the two-goal lead.

CSUSB had five corners on the day, four in the second half and finished with 16 shots.

Sophomore GK Emily Whyte had two saves and improved her record to 8-0 while Toro keeper Jennifer Ackerly finished with four saves in the loss.

CSUDH hosts Cal State L.A. on Friday, October 3, at Stub Hub Center's Field 3, also celebrating "Think Pink" as first kick is set for 4:30 pm.
