Gators Hand Toros 1-0 Setback at the Stub

CARSON -- Senior Caitlin Padian notched a team-high four shots including three on frame, but a visiting San Francisco State score just as the second half began proved the difference as the Gators took a 1-0 win at the Stub Hub Center's Main Stadium.

The Toros fall to 1-10-1 and 1-4 in CCAA play, while SFSU improves to 7-4, 2-3 CCAA.

Playing at the Main Stadium for the only time this year, the Toros rose to the challenge after taking a 10-7 edge on shots in the first 45 minutes, with SFSU having to make 5 saves in the frame compared to just 3 for the hosts.

The scoreless game changed just 80 seconds into the second half as a pair of Gators contributed to a score by Autumn Fox at 46:20.

CSUDH continued to press with 4 corners after the break, but was not able to put anything past SFSU keeper Allison Land, who was credited with 8 saves on the day.

Moa Eriksson fired all three shots on goal to help push the Toro offense, while Johana Rosas, Katelyn Fregosi and Ida Eriksson chipping in two shots each.

The Toros host CS Monterey Bay on Sunday morning, with first kick set for 11:30 am at University Field 1.
