Toros and Gators Play to Scoreless Double Overtime Draw

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State Dominguez Hills and host San Francisco State posted nearly identical stats in all categories in today's CCAA nightcap, and the result was a predictable 0-0 double overtime tie after 110 minutes of play.

Sophomore Jennifer Ackerly posted six saves in the draw as CSUDH moved to 3-2-1, 2-1 1 CCAA, keeping its unbeaten streak going at three-consecutive games.

In an evenly played match befitting a scoreless draw, the teams both took 13 shots in regulation, enjoyed seven corners with each side making six saves.

SFSU took eight shots compared to five for the Toros in the first 45 minutes of play, with the teams reversing roles after intermission.

CSUDH took the first overtime's three attempts before each side took two in the second overtime, with Katelyn Fregosi taking four shots and Gabrielle Pena two on goal to lead the Toro offense.

The Toros will look to keep their unbeaten streak alive on Friday as CS San Bernardino visits Toro Stadium, with first kick set for 4:30 pm.
