LOS ANGELES -- It was virtually deja vu all over again as cross-town rival Cal State L.A. scored an early first half goal and made it stand up in a 1-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on a hot and sunny day at Jesse Owens Track.

With the 1-0 decision, the fifth time in the past seven games the Toros have been on the wrong end of the score, CSUDH falls to 2-6-2, 1-6-1 CCAA, while CSULA improves to 5-3-2, 4-3-1 CCAA after
taking the regular season series with its second 1-0 win over the Toros.

The two teams combined for 9 shots in the first session, with the Golden Eagles able to capitalize on one of its scoring opportunities.

Unlike the first meeting in which CSULA opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes, the hosts waited until the 27th minute to find the back of the net.

At the 26:33 mark, Megan Ollar collected a Stephanie Lopez feed and flicked her shot past Toro keeper Tiffany Hollis to the far post for a 1-0 lead.

That's where the score remained through the first half and regulation, where CSULA continued to apply the pressure based on its 5-2 shot advantage in the second half.

CSULA keeper Gabriella Batmani finished with four saves in the win, with Hollis earning one.

The Toros, winless in their last seven games, now find themselves in last place in the south division, but will look to make their way back towards the middle of the pack by hosting division opponents San Francisco State and Cal Poly Pomona this weekend in Carson.
