Toros Forge 2OT 1-1 Tie at No. 5 UC San Diego

Box Score
LA JOLLA -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team played its most solid match in recent memory after forging a 1-1 tie at No. 5 UC San Diego in front of a reported 858 fans.  Olivia Patterson equalized the contest just eight minutes after the Tritons notched the game's first goal.

With the tie, the first blemish on UC San Diego's record, the Toros move to 2-5-2, 1-5-1 CCAA.

After a scoreless first half in which the two teams combined for just seven shots, the offenses kicked it up a notch after the break, with the hosts finding the back of the net first.

In the 61st minute, Gabi Hernandez rebounded a shot that deflected off Toro keeper Tiffany Hollis, and nestled her sitter into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

The Toros, however, answered right back as Claudia Toledo fed her entry pass to Patterson, who finished past UCSD keeper Kelcie Brodsky to knot the game at 1-1.

After regulation, CSUDH took all three shots in the first overtime, before UCSD fired off 3 in the second OT, with neither defense budging in the 110 minute tie.

The Toros will continue their southern California road trip on Sunday at Cal State L.A., with first kick set for 2 pm.
