Soccer Hosts Tritons at Home Depot Center's Main Stadium on Friday

CARSON -- When it comes to southern California supremacy in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, it doesn't get any bigger than UC San Diego coming to town.  And with the Tritons visiting Carson tomorrow night, it's fitting that these marquee match-ups will take place in the Home Depot Center's Main Stadium, home to the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA.

Both Toro teams are coming off disappointing league weekends, having been swept by Chico State and Cal State Stanisalus, and will need strong showings to not only  move up in the league standings, but also regain the taste of winning to which they've been so accustomed.

Having dropped a pair of 3-1 decisions last weekend, the women's squad faces a Triton team that's fresh off its 2010 appearance in the NCAA title game and ranked No. 4 by the NSCAA as one of just two unbeaten teams in league play.

Senior Jessica Murphy leads the Toro women with 4 goals and 9 points, with senior Taylor Canatsey and redshirt freshman Natalie Barbosa chipping in a goal apiece for a team that sits fourth in its division behind tomorrow's opponent.

Currently, the men's squad sits in fifth place in the CCAA standings after having been picked to win the south in a preseason poll amongst the league coaches, with the Tritons sitting in third.

Senior Jordan Rover leads the Toros with 3 goals and 7 points having tallied 2 game-winners in CSUDH's 3 wins, with senior Billy Gutierrez and sophomore Wyatt Stucker contributing identical 1 goal, 2 assist efforts.

Both games will be nationally televised via internet TV on the Toros Sports Network, and fans can watch free of charge with no registration required.

Toros GameDay will begin at 4:05 pm before the 4:30 pm first kick for the women's game, featuring the NCAA National finalists from the past two years.

Toros GameNight for the men's 7:00 pm kickoff will commence at 6:40 pm.

David Smock will call the play-by-play action alongside soccer analyst Jim San Martin, and all the action can be found on www.GoToros.com/live.
