Toros Draw 2-2 Tie Against No. 14 Coyotes in Offensive Showdown

Box Score
SAN BERNARDINO -- Playing catchup in the first and seeing its lead slip away in the second half, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team played 14th-ranked and host Cal State San Bernardino to a 2-2 draw, with Brooke Thompson striking with her first goal of the season.

Facing a 1-0 deficit, Thompson put the Toros on the board in the 32nd minute, heading a feed from Jessica Murphy and Danielle Shoemaker past CSUSB's Tiffany Mallick's left side for goal one.

The Toros scored next only two minutes into the second with another Murphy feed, this time to Taylor Canatsey, whose strong slice from 35 yards out sent the ball on goal again through the left.

Both Casey Hirsch and Brittany Wildings scored for the hosts with both assists coming from Jani Carmona.

Both sides managed a strong offensive showing as the Toros registered 17 shots with eight on frame, with Murphy leading the way with seven.

Facing 22 shots with 12 coming close to home, Toro keeper Alyssa Congdon grabbed 10 saves on the day.

The tie is a first for the Toros who now stand at 5-1-1 and 3-1-1 CCAA on the season.  Next kick-off for CSUDH is Sunday at 11:30am as the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos play host.
