Indovina Sits One Stroke Back After Day One of NCAA D2 Central/West Super Regional

Junior Ryan Indovina was all business en route to a 2-under and tie for 3rd place after day one

PALM DESERT -- Junior Ryan Indovina fired a 2-under 70 on day one of the 2010 NCAA D2 Men's Central/West Super Regional, good for a three-way tie for third place at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California, hosted by Cal State San Bernardino.  CS Stanislaus' Trevor Blair and Western New Mexico's Gordon Webb both fired a 3-under 69 to share the lead after day one.

Making the Toros' first venture into the golf postseason since the 2004 campaign, Indovina wasted little time in his aggressive play, sinking five birdies to tie with five other golfers, while carding a -1 on the Par 3 scoring and breaking even on the Par 4 holes.

Senior Cavin McCall didn't find the same success as his teammate over the first 18, shooting a 12-over 84 to finish day one near the bottom of the leaderboard.

The next highest individual player, Brady Strangstalien of Winona State University, finds himself tied for 27 after his 3-over 75.

Round two commences tomorrow morning at 7:30 am.
