CARSON -- Looks like all the Toros needed was a change of scenery to alter their fortune, and the beauty at the University of Hawai'i-Hilo provided an apt backdrop for CSUDH's 4-0 win over the Vulcans to halt its losing skid at two games.  Senior Diego Turoldo provide the game-winner with a penalty kick in the 20th minute on his third PK attempt after the first two results were disallowed.

Turoldo got the scoring started at 19:58 after a teammate was tackled from behind on a fast break.  After UHH keeper Dane Kaylor thwarted Turoldo's attempt, he was called for leaving his spot early, giving the senior another chance, which he converted past a diving Kaylor.  That score, however, was nullified after a Toro was cautioned for being inside the penalty box early, giving Turoldo one more chance.

The third time was the charm as the senior sent a line drive to the bottom right corner past Kaylor, giving the visiting "haoles" all the scoring they would need.

CSUDH wasted little time doubling its advantage as Billy Gutierrez took a Scott Locken cross and beat Kaylor far post at 51:07.

The lead tripled in the 71st minute after Locken sent a cross to the younger of the Turoldo brothers, Andre Turoldo, who finished with style after his screamer found the net for a 3-nil cushion, before Mike Piechota capped the scoring at 89:59 on a breakaway.

CSUDH keeper Markus Dickerson notched 6 saves on the afternoon, while Kaylor managed 7 in the loss.

The Toros, now at 11-4-2, return home to conclude their regular season this weekend beginning with a match-up against Cal Poly Pomona set for 7:00 pm on Friday.

With two wins, CSUDH would assure itself one of the four berths in next week's CCAA Championship tournament, with the top seed still a possibility if the two division leaders, CS San Bernardino and Chico State, both lose their final two games.
