Lacey, WA -- Freshman Jessica Murphy tallied a hat trick of sorts by tallying a goal and two assists as 24th-ranked CSUDH salvaged one win on its three-game trip to the great northwest by taking a 3-2 decision over St. Martin's in morning action.  Senior forward and 3rd-team All-CCAA Kelly Matosian also notched the first goal of her 2008 campaign in the victory.

Murphy got the Toros on the board first just nine minutes into the contest as she split a pair of Saints defenders, and blasted her shot into the left corner for a 1-nil lead.

After SMU's Jill Jensen knotted the game at 1-1 exactly two minutes later, Matosian gave the Toros the lead for good 20 minutes into the second half as she took a cross from Murphy and blasted her shot past Saint keeper Ashley Engel for a 2-1 edge.

The Toros brought their advantage to 3-1 just five minutes later on an unassisted goal from Melanie DeSalvo, a score that proved necessary after Kayci Donatelli brought the Saints to within one in the 80th minute.

CSUDH's defense, however, hung tough en route to picking up a win after two tough losses in the state.  Alyssa Congdon stopped six shots in the win as the Toros out-shot the Saints by a 25-11 margin, including 14-4 in the decisive second half.

Now at 2-2, the Toros return home on Tuesday, September 9, as NAIA's Azusa Pacific pays Toro Stadium a visit for a 7:00 pm first kick.
