Castillo Posts Top 20 Finish at 58th Southern California Intercollegiate

San Diego, CA -- Freshman Kevin Castillo placed a top 20 finish as the 58th Southern California Intercollegiate came to an end this afternoon, marking the highest result for a Toro golfer this year.

Castillo fired a 5-over 75 over today's 18 holes, giving the Torrance native three of the CSUDH's rounds in the 70s after shooting 72 and 73 in yesterday's first two round, giving him a total of 220 over the two days.

Senior Jeff Ronk finished in 68th place at 242, while Keith Johnson (71st, 248) and Raphael Malabanan (77th, 258) rounded out the Toro linksters in the tournament.

Lynn University captured the team title with a 6-stroke edge over St. Edward's University, while CS San Bernardino's Micah Burke finished the day atop the individual board with a 7-under for the tournament, besting a trio of golfers by six strokes.

The Toros head back to Bakersfield next week for CSUB's Spring Invitational II, set for an 8:00 am shotgun start.
