ALISA VIEJO, Calif. -- Led by All-California Collegiate Athletic Association 2nd-team sophomore keeper Keegan O'Brien, the two-time defending CCAA regular season champion Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team was chosen to three-peat in a poll amongst CCAA head coaches.

Cal State Dominguez Hills collected 155 points and five first-place votes to narrowly edge defending CCAA Tournament champion Stanislaus State. The Warriors received four first-place votes and 148 points to finish just seven points behind the Toros. Cal Poly Pomona placed third with 142 points and two first-place votes.

The Toros enter 2026 looking for its third consecutive CCAA regular-season championship. CSUDH went unbeaten in conference play for the second straight year (21 matches), recording an 8-0-2 record (12-4-4 overall) to finish with 26 points and edge Stanislaus State by one point for the title. The Cardinal and Gold also earned the No. 2 seed in NCAA Super Region 4 and hosted postseason competition at Toro Stadium and will begin 2026 ranked No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Preseason Poll.

Returning junior Justin Cuevas and senior David Politron pace the Toro offense after combining for six goals and three assists last season, with junior Aldair Marta chipping in two scores and two assists.

In net, O'Brien finished second in the CCAA in goals against average, 3rd in shutouts per game and seventh in saves en route to helping the squad post 10 shutouts and boast six contests with just one goal scored against.

The 2026 men's soccer season begins on the road tomorrow afternoon, taking on Vanguard University in Costa Mesa.  CSUDH begins its home schedule three days later on August 30, hosting St. Edward's University for a 1 pm non-conference clash at Toro Stadium.
