Jordan Townley scatted seven hits and one unearned run over 5.1 innings of work to lead the Toros to a convincing 10-1 win over Concordia University Irvine to open the four-game non-conference series this afternoon at Toro Field.
CSUDH's offense collected 14 hits in the win, led by a monster game by
Quinn Johnson who finished 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
After scoring single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings and leading 2-1 heading into their 6th inning at bat,
Angel Cortez's RBI on a fielder's choice brought home the first of what would be a six-run frame, with five other Toros each knocking home a run in the inning, the last coming on designated hitter
George Papadatos' double that found the left-center field gap.
Raoul Fabian, Jr. and Johnson drove in runs in the next inning to complete the scoring in the 10-1 win, with Toro relievers

Van Playman combining for just two hits allowed over the final 3.2 innings of play.
Papadatos and
Nigel Buckley each added a pair of hits in the win as the Toros roped five extra-base hits on the day.
