ALISA VIEJO -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills track and field team was chosen to finish ninth in a preseason tally amongst California Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches.
Cal Poly Pomona was voted as the favorites in the poll, with the four-time defending CCAA champions receiving 10 of the 12 first-place votes and 141 total. Chico State finished second with 133 points and one first-place vote. Cal State San Bernardino was third with 112 points, and Stanislaus State placed fourth with 106 points.

Fifth place went to Cal State San Marcos with 93 points, and Cal State LA placed sixth with 82 points. The remaining first-place vote went to Cal Poly Humboldt, which finished seventh with 76 points. Cal State East Bay was eighth with 53 points, with the Toros earning 48 points.
San Francisco State (38), Cal State Monterey Bay (34) and UC Merced (18) complete the preseason poll.
