LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros put forth a strong showing at the Oxy Invitational track and field invitational, with notable performances across multiple events.
Teloni Ervin led the Toros in the 100 meters, placing 19th with a time of 12.74 seconds, aided by a 2.0 m/s wind. Her twin sister,
Leloni Ervin, followed closely, finishing 20th with a time of 12.78 seconds (0.2 m/s wind).
Alyssa Renwick placed 25th, clocking in at 12.89 seconds (0.7 m/s wind), and
Chantel Palmer rounded out the event, finishing 31st with a time of 15.41 seconds (0.2 m/s wind).
Leloni Ervin also led the Toros in the 200 meters, finishing 23rd with a time of 26.63 seconds despite a -0.9 m/s headwind.
Teloni Ervin placed 26th with a time of 26.78 seconds (1.6 m/s wind), and
Alyssa Renwick finished 31st with a time of 27.18 seconds (1.6 m/s wind).
Hanna Espinoza represented the Toros in the 400 meters, finishing 21st with a time of 1:10.97.
The Toros' 4x100 relay team, consisting of
Melandy Davis,
Leloni Ervin,
Teloni Ervin, and
Alyssa Renwick, secured a 3rd place finish with a time of 49.68 seconds.
Kylie Gallick led the Toros in the javelin throw, placing 10th with a mark of 23.57 meters (77 feet 4 inches). Ava Hurry followed in 11th place with a throw of 21.61 meters (70 feet 11 inches), while Zanna Hurst secured 12th with a mark of 20.27 meters (66 feet 6 inches). Kylee Edgar placed 13th with a throw of 17.15 meters (56 feet 3 inches), and Nala Williams finished 14th with a mark of 15.90 meters (52 feet 2 inches). Mlia Goldsmith and Joe Benoit rounded out the event for the Toros, finishing 15th and 16th with marks of 15.82 meters (51 feet 11 inches) and 14.38 meters (47 feet 2 inches), respectively. Hosanna Walker completed the event for the Toros, placing 17th with a throw of 11.98 meters (39 feet 4 inches).
With this strong performance at the Oxy Invitational, the Toros close the 2024 season.
