CARSON, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills earned its second clean sheet of the season with a 1-0 victory over Vanguard on Saturday night.
Freshman forward Kaylee Leavitt scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute, finishing off a setup from Betsy Lopez Rayas. The goal marked Leavitt's second of the season and stood as the match-winner.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Audrey Haman was flawless, recording four saves to secure her second shutout of the year. The Toros' back line limited Vanguard to just four shots on goal.
Dominguez Hills outshot the Lions 6-4 overall, keeping the pressure on throughout the match.
The win improves the Toros' record to 2-0 on the season.
