POMONA, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills used a dominant second half to stay unbeaten in CCAA play, rallying past Cal Poly Pomona 52–43 on Saturday night at Kellogg Arena.
The Toros (6–2, 2–0 CCAA) outscored the Broncos 28–12 after halftime, flipping an early deficit into their sixth win of the season behind a balanced offensive effort and a commanding performance on the glass.
Sophomore forward Josiah Sanders paced CSUDH with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, marking another double-double in a breakout stretch. David Cheatom added 12 points, going 4-for-9 from the field and 4-for-6 at the line, while Jalen Brown scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Luke Lin contributed six points and four assists in 24 minutes, helping steady the offense during the second-half surge, and Tomi Adesiji knocked down the Toros' lone 3-pointer of the night.
Dominguez Hills finished with 46 rebounds, including 21 on the offensive end, to control possessions despite shooting 32.3 percent from the field. The Toros forced nine steals and limited Pomona to just 12 second-half points to secure the win.
CSUDH returns to CCAA play next week as it continues its early-season conference slate.
