SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills opened CCAA play with a road win Thursday night, defeating Cal State San Bernardino 76–68 at Coussoulis Arena.
The Toros (5–2, 1–0 CCAA) built a 10-point halftime lead and held off the Coyotes' late push behind strong guard play and a dominant rebounding effort. CSUDH finished with a 46–26 advantage on the boards, including 15 on the offensive end.
Jalen Brown paced the Toros with 19 points, six assists and five rebounds while shooting 8-of-14 from the field. DaSean Stevens added 16 points and eight rebounds, knocking down four 3-pointers. Luke Lin provided a spark with 13 points and four assists, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, and David Cheatom posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
Dominguez Hills shot 42.6 percent and hit 10 3-pointers, using balanced scoring and second-chance opportunities to maintain control.
The Toros stay on the road Saturday as they continue conference play at Cal Poly Pomona.
