CARSON – Cal State Dominguez Hills legend and California Collegiate Athletic Association 2023 Hall of Famer Tony Alfaro has returned to the South Land after the LA Galaxy completed a deal to bring him over from New York FC.
 
"It's a blessing to be coming back home and continue living my dream in front of friends and family," said Tony Alfaro. "At heart, I will always be a Toro no matter the jersey I wear. I am always representing my roots and where I started my career as a young footballer."
 
Prior to joining the LA Galaxy, Alfaro played with NYFC this season as a free agent and has appeared in six games while starting four. He has one goal and two assists in his 74 regular season appearances in Major League Soccer.

When you think about all the great soccer players that come through CSUDH, Tony is one of the best! We are excited he is coming back home. Alfaro returns to Carson for the first time since his illustrious five-year stint as an active Toro. During his time at CSUDH, he appeared and started in 75 games, scoring 10 goals and six assists. He was also named a 1st Team All-American by the NSCAA (2015), CCAA Defensive Player of the Year, (2015),1st Team All-CCAA first team selection (2014-15), 1st-team Daktronics All-Region selection (2014), First-team All-West Region (2015), 2nd-team All-CCAA selection (2012-13), 2nd-team NSCAA All-Region selection (2014), Division II CCA (2nd Team), and 3rd-team NSCAA All-Region selection (2012).
