CARSON -- It was deja vu all over again as the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team faced a one-goal deficit with less than two minutes left in regulation, but scored in the 89th minute to earn a draw and an all-important point in the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings.
David Politron did the honors, connecting at 88:24 for the tie that moves CSUDH to 5-4-5, 3-2-3 CCAA.
The Toros dominated action during the first 45 minutes, out-shooting East Bay seven shots to two.
It was closer after intermission with CSUDH tallying an eight to six edge in shots, with the Pioneers breaking through first in the 87th minute.
Just like Friday's contest, however, the Toros answered right back with Politron finding the back of the net 2:13 later.
CSUDH also enjoyed an edge in corner kicks, nine to two, with the teams combining for 20 fouls.
The Toros, who dipped to sixth place in the CCAA standings with four matches left in the regular season, host third-place Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday, October 15, with first touch set for 7 pm in Toro Stadium.
The top seven teams qualify for the CCAA Championships, which begin November 1, on the campus of host Cal Poly Pomona.
