ROHNERT PARK -- Cal State Dominguez Hills finished in the bottom half of the Sonoma State-hosted West Region Preview, a two-day tournament played at the Foxtail Golf Club.
In addition to its 15th-place team finish,
Andy Yoon posted the best individual finish for the Toros, coming in tied for 34th.
Yoon fired a 4-under 68 over the first 18 holes before struggling with a 7-over 79 in round 2. Firing a 75, Yoon finished at 222 to tie for 34th.
Joseph Sotelo (T51, 74-76-74-224),
Patrick Ordonez (T61, 78-76-72-226),
Andres Navarro (T87, 80-80-72-2323), and
Francis Bautista (T92, 84-74-75-233) rounded out the Toro quintet.
As a team, the Toros fired an 898, just one stroke off 14th-place Colorado State Pueblo, two shots from 13th-place Simon Fraser, and five strokes behind Cal State Monterey Bay.
Next up for the Toros is the
CCAA Championships, hosted by Cal State San Marcos at the Victoria Club in Riverside.
