SAN MARCOS -- Sophomore
Andy Yoon rose eight spots to finish tied for 21st as the two-day Fujikura Invite came to a close today at Shadowridge Country Club, hosted by Cal State San Marcos.
As a team, the Toros dipped to a tie for 8th place as the host Cougars overtook CS San Bernardino to take the team title, two shots better than CSU Pueblo and six shots ahead of Western Washington. The Yotes, who led by one shot yesterday, fell to fourth overall.
Yoon battled back from a 5-over yesterday to shoot par today, finishing with a 221 (74-75-72).
Patrick Ordonez, who posted the highest finish for the Toros yesterday, fired an 8-over 80 to tie for 30th (75-71-80-226).
Francis Bautista (T39, 76-79-74-229),
Andres Navarro (T39th, 73-78-78-229) and
Jesse Peh (69th, 87-84-W-N/A) rounded out the Toro finishes.
The Toros take a week of before heading to La Quinta the week of February 27.
