ROHNERT PARK – Three Cal State Dominguez Hills golfers put 73 scores into their cards Tuesday as the Toros wrapped up Sonoma State's NCAA West Regional Fall Preview with an eighth-place finish to start the non-championship segment of its 2022-23 season.
 
Playing at the 6,851-yard, par-72 Foxtail Golf Club, the site of the 2023 NCAA Super Regional in May, the Toros got a sneak peak of the course they have visited five times since 2014. The combined 876 result is the Toros' best performance at this course.
 
Andy Yoon, Andres Navarro and newcomer Joseph Sotelo each carded 73 scores on their final run through Foxtail Golf Club. Navarro had an excellent front-9 performance, making birdie four times to score a 2-under 34. Sotelo was also near perfect in the front-9, making par or better in all but the par-4 seventh hole. Yoon, meanwhile, was the same way in the back-9. Despite a struggle in the 14^th hole, he made par in seven holes and birdied the 18^th.
 
Patrick Ordonez, coming off perhaps the best performance in his golfing career Monday with the program-tying record 65 in the second round, scored a 2-over 74 in the final round. He made par in eight holes in the front-9 while in the back side of the course he bogie the 10^th hole but eventually made up ground in the 17^th hole where he birdied. He ended up finishing in a tie for eighth in the individual board.
 
Jesse Peh rounds out the Toros with an 86 in his final round outing.
 
Host Sonoma made a huge rally in the third round to leap five spots and tie leader Western New Mexico for the tournament win. Both teams scored an 850.
 
The Toros will hop on the plane to travel to DuPont, Washington to partake in Saint Martini's Bishop Invitational Friday-Saturday, held at The Home Course.
