Weather Improves as Toros Complete Wildcat Classic

CORNING – Day two at The Links at Rolling Hills saw much better improvement at the early portion of Tuesday, but it still proved to be a challenged for Cal State Dominguez Hills, which finished 10th at the end of the shortened two-round Wildcat Classic.

Howard Yoon made an improvement comparing to Monday's result, which he and the rest of the 62 participants battled the wind the entire day and it resulted the tournament to be limited to just the one round instead of two. After scoring an 83 no longer than 24 hours ago, Yoon carded a two-over 74 to finish in a tie for 20th.

Andy Yoon also made a turnaround between rounds. He penciled in a 3-over 75, nine shots better than the first round. He finished in a tie for 25th.

Logan Miyamoto and Steven Escobar each carded an 82 and Patrick Ordonez rounded out Dominguez Hills with a 94.

Stanislaus State ended up winners of the Wildcat Classic, shooting a 288 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 597, the only team to card under 600. Academy of Art's Matthew Watkins took home individual medalist honors with a 146 in the tournament.

The Toros' tour in Northern California and the CCAA moves to Seaside, where Cal State Monterey Bay hosts its Otter Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Bayonet and Black Horse.
